Dearest Judy,

I am so very glad you decided to stay and spend the weekend with all of us at Lake Lure.  Who would I have had to brave the sour drink with?! hehehe  I am so positive that both Joe and Kelli were looking down on us saying, "don't do it, don't do it."  It brings tears of laughter to my eyes thinking of the two of them shaking their heads as we downed the bitterness, then picturing them saying, "we told you so."  Can't you just picture it? 

I don't know about you, but I feel like I've been emotionally wiped out since coming home.  Doing anything but what is absolutely necessary has been more than a stretch, and it's taken a toll on my asthma.  Lots of emotional stuff going on. 

Anyways, just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you.

Dear Judy,

Your Joe has forever touched my heart. The gathering in Lake Lure was a time I will never forget. I feel we all share a bond that will never be broken. It was a weekend of remembrance and inspiration and gave me hope for the future without my beloved Ronnie and Brandi. I'd like to think Joe and Ronnie have met in Heaven and are looking down on us and smiling!!  They sounded so much alike.  Hard working men who loved their families and the outdoors.  Guess God needs some good men in Heaven when he picked our beloved husbands. 

I can't explain the kinship I have felt since meeting you.  You too have touched my heart with your devotion to your beloved Joe.  I wish there was a way we could change life back to the way it was but unfortunately that is not meant to be.  Instead we must treasure our memories and hold on to our faith that one day we will be reunited.  What a glorious day that will be. 

I really hope you will come to Texas.  I would love to show you around.  We didn't chose this life we are now living but like Nancy always says....Together we can make it.  

Keep that fiesty and precious personality of yours.  Your Joe must be so proud of you and what you have done in his memory.  I am so glad we met and I count you as a nugget of gold in my treasure chest of friends.  Take care of yourself and really try to plan to come for a visit.
